| All right, so I suck at keeping this thing up recently. I am not going to say that I'm just too busy, I'm just going to jump back into it.
A Midsummer Night's Dream goes up Tuesday. We've got dress rehearsals tonight and tomorrow...and then we open. This process seems like it has zoomed by. I don't htink I've done as good a job as I thought was possible, but I think it will be passable and generally decent. The show overall, though, is amazing...absolutely and completely. Tim definitely knows how to put a show together. The set is simple but effective and the make-up and costumes are absolutely astonishing. I'm going to confess that aI've never seen a run all the way through, the parts I've seen are absolutely phenomenal. Those of you who can should definitely come see it. Callaway Theatre, Minor Fine Arts Building, Shorter College...call/contact me for directions (if ya need 'em).
Besides that, things are as usual...class, quiz bowl, hanging out with friends, SAFE...in a big way. We changed the name of the GSA to SAFE because most peopel instantly got a negative idea of the name because they didn't understand what we stood for. Changing the name was not backing down; it was rather a way to reach out since we are essentially a peaceful group. We had a a q&a session with some of our biggest detractors and we are officially started...we've elected a new e-board....and we're doing safe-space training and a few other thigbns next year that should be really good. However, we're pretty much a platform for GLBT and women's rights and equality...which really shouldn't be that objectionable...you'd think.
Be well. | | |
| Okay, so my phone is supposed to be insured for repair and that sort of thing. For those of you behind on the back story, here we go. I sent my phone off on the 15th of February and was given a two week window for it to be gone. Needless to say, I've called Radio Shack (where I took the phone) 20 times, they're main office 4 times, Alltel tech support twice, and the actual repair center. It should not be this difficult! So, my phone gets in today and its going to cost me $45 to get it...which pisses me off but at this point I just want my phone back. So, to recap: Radio Shack sucks, does not hold up their end of promises and commitments, and I just will generally never trust them or ever go back there so long as I can help it.
Midsummer is going very well though I feel very unsure about my character. Everybody is doing such a nice job, we had our first runw ith costumes tonight...it's a mix between period pieces and fairy clothing with touches from the 50's for the royalty and lovers...I think it is very cool...not to mention that our set is simple but rocks. We have less than two weeks to opening! Eeeeeeeeeee!
All right, gotta go study religion...will talk later.
| Going to the mountains. Be back Wednesday night. Peace. | | |

| You Are Teal Green |
You are a one of a kind, original person. There's no one even close to being like you. Expressive and creative, you have a knack for making the impossible possible. While you are a bit offbeat, you don't scare people away with your quirks. Your warm personality nicely counteracts and strange habits you may have.
| Working on a bit of social activism after the Lux and Veritas thing at Shorter...I'll tell all about it later, just suffice it to say, for now, I feel more like doing "something" than I have in a long time.
Later: Welcome to Spring Break, Freshman Year. Working this weekend, going to the mountains with some people, and then...who knows? Probably writing and doing an assload of research for my performance piece that I am working on. I just did so much research on HAMAS...I've still got to read their charter, but I really don't hate them as much as I did...and they're not quite as much of a boogeyman as the popular media makes them out to be. They've got beliefs I don't share and I don't support the idea of suicide bombing, but if their beliefs are really religiously justified (or at least can be through some form of perception), than I think the western world has to take a closer look at them before completely writing them off as lost forever.
Mmm...in other news, really tired because I stayed up talking to Kelly in Franklin last night until three in the morning, because we were "rehearsing," which basically means talking about anything and everything and then re-blocking the end of our scene in the wee hours of the morning. All right, I'm done for now...there may be more later. OH! Pray, send good karma, energy, whatever to my extended family. Some major shit is going down on all sides and I just really don't need bad things nor want them to happen. Blessed be.
